This rare, Limited Edition release was bottled in Autumn 2017. This bottling contains rare old whiskies from selected refill hogsheads that were double matured in a combination of first fill Ex-bourbon barrels and quarter casks. "This rare liquid features a subtle touch of the trademark peat smoke of Laphroaig tempered by lime and nectarine, which give way to sea salt and mild chilli. Savour Laphroaig 27 year old whilst you can. Moments such as this come but once in a lifetime" John Campbell, Distillery Manager Tasting Notes: Aroma: A sharp tropical fruit burst is littered with macadamia nuts and suggestions of vanilla, wet ash and a sprinkling of sea-salt. Taste: The tropical fruit opens up with soft citrus and delightful pangs of nectarines, banana and a suggestion of lychee. Sweet smoke smoulders and lingers, and jalapeños in brine give a savoury spice that white pepper cuts through beautifully. Punchy, nutty espresso and polished wood rounds it off. Finish: Long and dry, with notes of tobacco tin, spicy oak, some citrus and a touch of leather.
