Highland Park - The Exclusive Malts Single Cask #1 2002 15 year old Whisky

$466.99 price per bottle
A single cask offering from The Exclusive Malts range that is from a mystery Orkney Disillery? As this is colour coded to the "Earthy, light smoke, oily" profile we are guessing this is Highland Park as opposed to Scapa as they do not make peated whisky. Aged for 15 years in a single Refill Butt likely to be Sherry and again more in keeping with Highland Park and not Scapa who use more Bourbon Barrels. Yielding just 695 bottles and bottled at natural cask strength of 56. 7% ABV. Distilled on June 6th 2002. Nose: Smoked heather, aromatic honey, sultana and tea loaf cake, brown bread, waxy orange, mackeral pate, campher wood smoke. Palate: Malty honeycomb with earthy aromatic smoke and leather, herbal honey on brown bread and some spice (cumin & nutmeg) Finish:Malty bread or ryvita with smoked herb honey butter, heather and nut shells. A malt for around the campfire, very autumnal, aromatic and earthy from the most northern of Scotland's distilleries.
