This is the 9th official Port Ellen release from Diageo's Special Release series and was bottled in 2009 with 5916 bottles available An extremely highly rated edition of Port Ellen owing to the balance shown by the whisky. Despite the age there's a harmonious marriage of sweetness with the peat, salt and smoke. The palate is silky and viscous with citrus anf herbal notes moving into the smokier and heavier elemnr=ts. The finish is drying and smouldering.
