Producer Some would say that David Paxton is the viticulturist to the Stars with a list of clients that would make any Australian wine drinker’s heart beat faster. A natural extension of his consulting business would be to have some vineyards of his own. He happens to have some of the really prime sites in the heart of McLaren Vale. If there is one thing Paxton knows it is how to produce fantastic fruit. Up until 1998 most of his grapes were being contracted off to large companies. The Shiraz from their Jones Block was so incredible in the past they had nearly been expecting the large winery buying the grapes to release a single vineyard reserve wine giving tribute to its source. David decided he should showcase the quality of the Jones Block Shiraz himself by producing a Shiraz under his own label.
