Nestled close to Powerscourt House, the Mill House is found, with it's timeless Wicklow granite walls presenting layers to be discovered. Now lovingly restored and extended, it is home to the Powerscourt Distillery & Vistor Centre. In this release, the opening expression from "The Estate Series", we celebrate our spiritual home and add to that history of perseverance, endeavour and innovation for which the Powerscourt Mill House has become synonymous. Distilled from corn and malt, this grain spirit was first matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Amarone casks. Grain barrels from 2010,2011 and 2012 were skilfully blended in equal parts, creating the perfect harmony and balance from competing influences of Bourbon, Oak and Amarone in this mellow whisky.
