Soft berry fruits and roasted spices, draped in the wine flavors of the California Cabernet Sauvignon barrique. The flavors start softly, with rhubarb, apple, blackberry fruit, and Brazil nut before a spice steamroller rattles through, jettisoning licorice and star anise over cooked fruits. The reverberations of the spices continue through a dry finish. With the grain as a canvas, the wines colors work particularly well here. 91wa New to the U. S. market in March 2015, this rose-gold whiskey is finished in former California Cabernet Sauvignon casks. The aroma shows nuts, vanilla and orchard fruit. It's light-bodied and slightly buttery on the palate, with lots of vanilla and custard, and a slightly fruity finish and a build of alcohol heat. This award-winning whiskey has won best in class annually at the World Whiskies Awards since its release, and is one of only a handful of Single Grain bottlings in the world. It is fully matured in Californian red wine barrels resulting in an intensely fruity and beautifully amber liquid, with lush berry notes. Hand selected casks, bottled at 46% with no chill filtration to ensure all the unique flavor is captured.
