The 2019 release of the Laphroaig Cask Strength 25 year is here. This should be on everyones 'must try' whisky list. This has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry casks for a quarter of a century, before being bottled at cask strength. Waves of rich peat smoke mingle with warm spices, dried fruits and oak spice throughout the palate. Tasting Notes Nose: Sweet vanilla and wood spice, smoke and TCP, though restrained, some smoked bacon, with underlying dried fruit added to the mix. Palate: Very creamy and rich, with a full texture, peppery, spicy, iodine, saline and smokiness. There's also a little green apple fruit. Finish: Very long and layered, waves of rich smoke and a peppery conclusion.
