Caol Ila's 8th release as part of the 2013 Diageo Special Releases. Unpeated and bottled at natural cask strength of 59. 6% and aged in American oak, rejuvinated American oak and Ex-Bodega European Oak. Nose: Lime curd, coastal spray freshness, oily pear drops, salty seaweed, green olive oil. Palate:Sweet citrus, salted green apple, oily vanilla, fresh and creamy biscuity or bread dough. Finish: Oily citrus, vanilla ice cream eaten on a coastal pier with salty sea air, chilli flake on seaweed. Named in honour to Billy Stitchell who retired as distillery manager in 2013.
