The Balvenie’s Stories range is a 27-year-old single malt. From the Banffshire distillery comes A Rare Discovery from Distant Shores, a celebration of the friendship, creativity, and imagination that The Balvenie prides itself on. This expression is finished in Caroni rum casks, which have given the expression its wonderfully unique flavour profile. The malt arrives at a strength of 48% abv. TASTING NOTES: Nose: Rich and indulgent with notes of muscovado sugar and manuka honey. Lighter fruit notes intersperse the aroma with occasional hints of green banana and light spice. Palate: Beautifully smooth with a velvet vanilla viscosity. The initial burst of sweetness graduates to treacle toffee, aged leather and deep oak tannin. Finish: Lingering sweet with a wonderful mouth-coating oiliness.
